FMS REPRESENTATIVES TAKE MATERIALS R&D
AND EDUCATION MESSAGE TO THE HILL
Representatives of FMS and its member societies joined over 200
other scientists and engineers for the 9 th Annual
Science-Engineering-Technology Congressional Visits Day on March 3-4, 2004.
The FMS delegation included:

Society
In visits to 32 Congressional offices, the
materials community representatives emphasized the need for continued federal
support of science and technology research and development, and of S&T
education programs, even in these times of budget constraints. They answered
questions from members of Congress and their staffs, urged House and Senate
members to join their respective R&D caucuses, and committed to following up
the annual Washington visits with continuing contact with their Representatives
and Senators in the home districts.
